Liverpool’s Richard Batty has been a resident solo artist at The Cavern Club since 2009, honing his craft, as a writer and performer over these years to become one our most popular artists.
He is no stranger to International Beatleweek, having performed many times including his acoustic tribute to Bob Dylan at the Royal Court in 2016, a tribute repeated last year as part of ‘Scousechella”.
Richard is of course a huge Beatles fan and has been providing the opening set for the Cavern Club Beatles every Saturday in our Live lounge for around six years. He has supported many major artists here over the years, including Big Country, The Blockheads, Geno Washington and Bruce Foxton’s From The Jam.
Away from his shows at the Cavern, Richard is an accomplished singer-songwriter and has played all over the UK. In 2015 he released his debut EP, “Loaded Gun” which was mastered at Abbey Road Studios. Richard’s shows at IBW follow on from a very successful set at the world-famous “Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod festival in North Wales where we had a pop up Cavern stage. Catch Richard on Monday opening for The Overtures performing the Abbey Road album in full.
